Biology
The white eggs are laid one-to-two at a time and require approximately 18 days to incubate. The eggs are incubated by both parents and approximately two to five broods are produced per year or up to 10 young per year. The young are born featherless and are totally dependent on the parent birds for the first month for warmth and food. The young leave the nest approximately one month after they hatch. Pigeons live from 4 to 12 years.

Behaviour
Pigeons have become the most serious bird pest associated with buildings. They can nest in a variety of protected locations, such as building ledges, signs, air conditioners, etc. Pigeons nest during all seasons when conditions permit. Pigeons feed on a variety of items such as garbage, vegetable matter, insects and handouts.
